Germa is a close hybrid or selected clone of Hippeastrum Parodii from Argentina. Tall stems display yellow, trumpet-shaped flowers during the first wave of summer heat. Being from a desert climate, it is one of the few Amaryllis that can take full sun here in Arizona. Expect it to flower later than other Hippeastrum. Hot summers and cold winters (Zone 7?) are no problem, but excellent drainage is a must. The blue-green leaves die down with frost, but may stay evergreen in frost free areas. Certainly one of my favorites.

Bulbs are still small, perhaps a year away from flowering.
