Amaryllis Double White Clone #2
As far as I know, double amaryllis belladonna resulted from a new mutation here on the farm.  This one is unique among my collection, never before offered for sale.  Most of my 'doubles' have some flowers with extra petals and others on the same stem have no extra petals.  But this is the best double flower I've seen yet, and it even has a glowing yellow throat.  The flowers are adorably fluffy and irregular.  It even has extra tepals emerge before the flowers separate from the stem.  The picture is of a double flower that is a compound of two flowers with extra petals.  Sometimes this hybrid has one super double flower per stem, and sometimes it has multiple double flowers per stem.  It seems willing to bloom from a small bulb.  The offset for sale might bloom in 2022 if kept happy.
Amaryllis Belladonna are highly recommended for those with mild winters and relatively dry summers. Folks in other climates can grow them in large pots if they are willing to do the extra work. Grow outside in zones 8-10 with mulch. The dutch will sell these as cold hardy to zone 6, but they lie.  Possibly they could be more cold hardy if they are planted deeply or in a sheltered location.  It is also possible to grow these amaryllis in pots, but I would recommend larger pots for the big bulbs and roots. Water occasionally whenever they are not receiving adequate rainfall.
