NERINE BOWDENII ALBA
NERINE BOWDENII ALBA
A select white hybrid of Nerine Bowdenii.  Flower clusters can be as much as 8" across and stems can be 24+ inches long.  Flowers seem to glitter because of special water-filled cell structures.  Said to be hardy down to zone 5 (haven't tried it there though).
From South Africa, Nerine produce umbels of exotic, blooms with narrow, wavy, recurved petals which bloom on top of bare 18"-24" stems in late summer until frost. They are such a delight because they seem to pop up out of nowhere unannounced and provide color/texture when many other flowers have faded. They are pest-resistant, make superb cut flowers (lasting 2-3 weeks cut) and are excellent in containers.

These are blooming size bulbs grown here and dug fresh.  They often bloom the first year, but sometimes take a season or two to become established before flowering.
